Pandit Nathuram Premi opened Hindi Granth Ratnakar Karyalay on 24 September 1912 with Svadhinata, Mahavirprasad Dvivedi’s Hindi translation of John Stuart Mill’s On Liberty. It went on to publish Premchand, Hajariprasad Dvivedi, Jainendra Kumar and Yashpal, and to bring Sharat Chandra, Tagore and K. M. Munshi to Hindi readers. Today we publish rare classical texts, authoritative translations and new scholarship.
Our flagship imprint: classical Jain texts in Prakrit, Sanskrit, Apabhraṃśa and Braj with Hindi, English and Gujarati translations, alongside new research by scholars from India, Europe and North America. 47 volumes since 2005.
Our Jay Prakrit page brings together 110 Prakrit books by level and subject, a free logo for anyone promoting Prakrit, and a plan for its revival.
